I'd really like to see a poll that would tell me how my TSP account balance stacks up against other folks WHO ARE MY AGE and HAVE MY SALARY level. Every so often I see an article in Money magazine or the newspaper that talks about how most Americans have less than $100K saved for retirement. I find that hard to believe (but maybe there are a lot more younger folks out there then I realize or maybe there are a lot more people making less than $30,000/year than I imagine...)
A poll that asked the following would give some insight into this:
Age
GS salary level
Current TSP balance
Number of Years until PLANNED retirement
