The results are in and my experiment of going L Income lost me money.
Nov 8-15
L Income = -.15%
F = -.05%
G = +.04%

The percentages are a little skewed because this site does not include the 10th and the actual TSP does. Regardless I learned my lesson.... Stick to the plan!

No worries - appreciate you making that sacrifice for the greater good.

I still think that your plan has potential - just keep it in your back pocket for when you think you might need it. When my plan had me going into G in OCT I instead rode it out in C,S, and I and made some very nice gains. I tried the same technique in NOV and almost lost it all. ;)

All in all - even though I'm not a fan of going into G (I have many years until retiring) I know it's part of the strategy of HOLDING on to your winnings.

With the bounce today, you'll have made money compared to sitting in F.

The bounce not over yet. Still have a issue today that could change the entire direction of this market. I was moving into S fund today, but think I am going to hold off till tomorrow and see how this plays out. Hoping for a good week next week thru cyber Monday we shall see.

I know what you mean, JL. Holding on to your money is the second part of the challenge, the first part of the challenge is getting it.

ron.logan,
Your lesson that convinced you to "Stick to the plan!" was cheaper than mine was. A lot cheaper. That's why I like to advise people to use their Fantasy accounts for any experiments.

I debated whether or not make an IFT but you never know if the rally will last until the end of the day or the end of the year.

Ok at the end of the day the L income made me +.01% Woohoo a gain!
F was -.15
G was +.05 (winner of the three)

I got time to ponder this before the next IFT.
