I just transferred from "G" to "S" today. No emotion at all on my part. It looks like "C" caught support at the 200 day MA and then the 100 day MA and my guess is now it will get support at the 50 day MA and continue up.

All the Monthly seasonals are in C and S this month. Then they continue in equities C/S/I next month.

The long term trend is up... More recently we had a correction and now what looks like a rebound with 2 higher lows making me believe this up trend is trying to continue.

"S" fund looks even better to me with a recent breakout. But, it is in overbought territory and will probably see some form of selling.

But only time will tell... The bottom could fall out and you would be right. Only time will tell.

Good luck!

I’m not all emotion, I look at the up and down swings, the gains / loss and if I like what I see .... I execute an IFT. Buy low sell high, that’s the motive.

Agree 100%. Nice charts too.

Yeah, this year I've already made a mistake in not following the plan so I intend to stick closer to it, although I'm not entirely sold yet. ;-) Either way, it's important to keep contributing the maximum and keep throwing your money in the equities.

Enjoy!

I get it. My dumb you know what pulled out with a 5% loss (got scared) so I locked in my losses and while I want to follow #31312, meaning that I should have IFT'ed yesterday, I'm too scared based on the height of the market. I can understand both sides, but I would have make my losses back if I stayed in, but I quit beating myself up.

Koastiek, what exactly did you do to lock in your losses

Is anybody making gains (documented in their Fantasy TSP) this year by following one of the Seasonal Dailies? I'm starting to feel like I'm giving Mr. Imperfect a run for his money...

Welcome to the "what not to do" strategies.

I would guess from his/her move from "S" to "G" during the FEB put-your-hand-on-my-hip-and-I-dip-you-dip-we-dip; thus locking in his/her loss.

LOL, jlozano, that’s crazy. If you followed 31312 to the “T” you would have
1- sold low S
2- made little G
3- bought higher S

In order for any of these strategies to work, you have to tweak it.

Still learning about how to use IFTs to increase return. On Friday, March 9, I moved 30% from C,S to the G fund when C,S share prices were higher. I plan to keep that 30% in G but will move it back to C,S when share prices drop more -- to buy more C,S shares than I "sold" when I moved it to G.

If I am wrong and C,S prices go up before I move the funds from G back to C,S then I guess I'll miss some earnings and that's the chance I take. Is my logic correct?

Current allocation: G 30%, C 40%, S 20%, I 10%

Yeah, some folks pulled out too soon - I think, but whom I to judge.

I stayed in long enough to make more than half back, but should have stayed in longer. :)

Here's for a ride up!

Seawatcher, I try to do the same thing. But even if miss the lower C and S Fund S prices, you still win from the prior move to G then made little more in G. Key then is the next move, after buying C and S at the high.

That is the strategy I usd to follow, buy low and sell high. You may miss some gains with that strategy waiting for a downturn, but you never sell for less. This year I have been following a daily strategy for the most part but it has resulted in me selling low and buying high. I did stay in the S fund longer than the strategy called for and gained almost 2% back but decided to get back to the strategy and lost out on the 1.45% last Friday. Like a good soldier I bought back in Monday against better judgement (S fund was up 5% for the month) just in time to head back down again.
