HELP!

My home ip address has been blocked for over a year. I have tried several times reaching out. Last month I sent a PM to Skie, Aitrus and TSPKing and didn't get a response from anyone. How do I get unblocked?

Yet .. here you are, logged in ... with me. ;)

I kid ... you said your home IP so I'm guessing you are logging in from work?

I'm no admin here but I thought there was an issue about a year ago where someone or a group of someones were creating fake accounts and causing havoc on the board. This was combated by blocking numerous VPN/CLOUD IP-space and suspicious ISPs. I'm using a cloud service browser and I get blocked quite a bit too. I have to restart the program, recycle my IP, and then I'm in.

May I ask who your ISP is at home? Mind you I have absolutely no power to do anything with your answer here -

And are you using any VPN services while browsing?

Yes, yes and yes. Those people did wreck havoc on this website and I was collateral damage. If I take my work laptop home and vpn then I can get on. Or if on my phone and turn off my wifi then I can get on. I have no idea how IPs work. I have a local ISP that just took over the previous local provider and got a new router but apparently none of that changed the IP. Its just frustrating that my home wifi is blocked so I have to go through extra steps to get on this site or just wait till I go to work. (yes I'm a whiner but I thought over a year it would have been resolved)

I hear you - and you don't seem to be whining to me. I'd want to be able to log into tspcenter without having to go through all that extra stuff too - especially on a RUSH to get your IFT in.

Anyways - interesting enough I would have thought your VPN-IP-space would be preventing your entry to this website but it is actually your ISP. When you are using your work laptop through their VPN services you are using THEIR IP-space. Your phone, when you turn off WIFI - you are using your cellphone provider and getting an IP-space from them. On your home network (WIFI), you are using solely the ISP-IP-space ... which is being blocked at this website.

On the flip side - do you use a VPN service on your home network? I use NordVPN (it's a paid service though) but I'm sure there are free ones out there. VPNs technically hide your ISP-IP-space and creates a technically-secured tunnel to a provider. It will change your IP and may work - but I know that's ANOTHER step to do where you would probably just want everything to work as it once did.

I haven't told you anything you don't already know of course but I'm generating a conversation to see if an admin would chime in for you, I hope it helps.

King, I've endured hearing from Snappie about 3 babies, rebuilding a log cabin built wrong, and some weird market calls from paid subscriptions, but she's good. RA material. Can you fix this?

Sapdragon,

I apologize for not answering your PM, I didn't see it buried in my inbox.

As for your situation, there's no way to unlock the IP that is used by your account without also allowing access by a large number of the known troll accounts. Skie and I worked hard to limit the number of legitimate accounts we locked out. Unfortunately, a few accounts such as yours remained blocked despite our best efforts.

It's not an issue of what we can or can't do, it's an issue of the nature of their attack and how the technology works. I'm sorry, but unless somebody who is more tech savvy than I looks at the issue, there's nothing more we can do.

I'm no professional, but I had some experience with IP in my job. I'd first try turning off my modem/router and computer for 30 seconds and then restart them all, which may refresh the IP. Second, you might call the internet provider to ask if they can refresh your IP. Third, perhaps a VPN for home? If you can get to a Systems Prompt, type "IPCONFIG /R" (without the quote marks) to release your IP. That will cause you to lose internet connection, which will be re-established when you restart your computer.

Doesn't sound like TSP Center is blocking a particular IP, but rather a particular domain name server. If that's the case, snap will be stuck until she either changes ISPs or her ISP changes their DNS.

Cron- Endured?! If you were here right now, I'd give you an earful!

Everyone else, Thanks for the replies. I should have reached out to the community sooner. I will call my provider and see if they can change things up so I have a different address. I'm not too sappy of a person but you guys are great (group high 5 and chest bump)

I was IP blocked while trying to log in at a Marriott hotel in Texas. Freaked me out for a moment.

So that is what is happening, I have received several negatives on the site for being negative. I have never made negative statements.

69 now ....

That is weird but reviewing your negative points your comments had nothing negative in it. I believe your account was mangled from the onslaught of "the hackers".

sunny - if you want to see your posts, on top of the page click "Edit Profile" -

Then click on Overview - about mid-left of the page -

Then click on the small fonts "show your posts", about mid-center of page -
