I see, so he was protested and it turned violent on Feb 1'st, 2017.
Is it because he was conservative or openly said "And I think particularly in the gay world, and outside the Catholic Church — if that's where some of you want to go with this — I think in the gay world some of the most important, enriching and incredibly life-affirming, important shaping relationships very often between younger boys and older men, They can be hugely positive experiences." Which were taken as advocating pedophilia and he was ultimately forced to resign from Breitbart on February 21'st, 2017.
Was it his politics or possible endorsement of pedophilia?

Billionair, I get where you're coming from. Really - I do. I think that you and I have the same views on socialism / autnoritarianism and the dangers it poses towards society. But we don't defeat it by using their tactics. We defeat obviously illogical or incorrect claims using calm, rigorous assertions of logic, and ignore them when their replies turn insulting or inflammatory. We don't reply with verbal insults and violence, even though we are able to do so. Just because we can do a thing doesn't mean that we should or that it's the best option available to us.
userque, you know where I stand on things, more or less. However, keep in mind that free speech also means that people are free to say not just things you disagree with, but also in ways you don't like.
As for the forum rules, MJ and I will be discussing the forum rules and enforcement of them as the transition continues from King to MJ's ownership.
banning those that want to turn this site into reddit/aka a political cesspool , would be a great idea. I think 99% come here to make money. There are those that taking over this site and just spewing their political hate and views.

Can you tell us why it would be logical to ban members for using the Anything Goes forum in accordance with the rules?
Should Aitrus also be banned, since he's used it a lot for political posts?
Optimus187, I have to take sides with userque on this one. For now, and for myself, I can walk and chew gum at the same time.
Reading some of the stuff is going to upset you, well you got to have thick skin.
And if everybody does what they are supposed to do with the procedures, you can get a lot of laughs out of it.

During the dotcom crash, I was on the MyTrack trading platform (under a different nick.) It had a chat forum.
I'll never forget how the mood of the forums changed as the crash played out. I think a lot of folks lost their minds. Can't really describe it, you had to be there.
It baffles me how so many are so angry about what someone else posts, and the markets are up ~40% in the last couple of months. I guess the next crash will mentally decimate this generation. (By 'generation,' I mean trading generation. If you weren't trading during the 2007-8 thing, you're this 'new' generation I'm referring to, regardless of your age.)
I don't think you need thick skin here. All you need is normal skin for this sand box. Don't get me wrong, there are some rough sand boxes out there where thick skin, along with armor is required, but this ain't one of them.
But you're right, go to the non-anything-goes threads for your financial stuff; stop by the AG thread to unwind, wax philosophical, talk a little sht, and LAUGH!
I owe you an apology, this, "Should Aitrus also be banned, since he's used it a lot for political posts?"

Optimus187, I'll have to side with what Tomanyiron and userque are saying. I can't ban everybody who posts political stuff here because King explicitly created the "Anything Goes" portion of the forum for non-TSP discussions. MJ hasn't had the chance to make many changes yet because he's focused on getting the site moved over to his servers. There have been times in the past when weeks or months would go by with hardly a political word, and then times like now when there was more politics discussed than investing subjects.
If you notice, I choose not to start political threads very often. I'll more often step into a conversation that's already going, because that's my preference. Could I post as many videos and articles supporting my side of things as userque does? Yes, I could - just ask him. I've shared quite a few videos with him via PM, but that was because I felt that to be the right venue for what I was sharing and the ongoing discussion we're having.
I get that you don't like all the political discussions. To be honest, they grind on my patience after a while too. We all have things that we don't like discussing much - sports, religion, politics, etc. Unfortunately, in the "Latest Posts" section only the thread title is shown, not the forum that it's been created in, which sometimes results in people reading threads they might otherwise prefer to avoid. That's one reason why I'm hoping that MJ and I can come up with a workable solution for those who would rather not click on a thread title hoping to see some relevant TSP, civil service retirement, or general investing topics. This might hopefully help people who want to avoid the politics to do so, and those who want to partake in those discussions can simply navigate down to that section of the forum.
We're all a work in progress, Optimus. Give the site time to grow and adjust. MJ is very open to suggestions for improvements, so if you have some please let us know.

How about we ban people who want to ban people? If the purpose of this site is to promote dissemination of as much information as possible whether significantly or marginally valuable--then any attempt to suppress is a clear and present danger to this tenet, right????

Confirmed!!!

Not to beat a dead horse, but in the spirit of full disclosure of the facts:
I try to indicate in the thread title that the thread is 'political' or 'anything goes;' This does show up in the "Latest Posts" list, yet, some folks that claim that they don't want to read those threads, not only read them, they post attacks in them. Always call a spade, a spade.

Didn't mean to leave you out like that. My bad.
It didn't cross my mind, mater of fact, I like not being a lighting rod.
And another thing, I don't think I'm at the same level in the debate club as Aitrus, userque, and ArrieS (Oh and Bloobs when he's sober ).
I'm not as articulate, I misspell words, and get the grammar wrong a lot. But I do what I can, and I think I get some hits in. I'm not dumbing down, I just know my weakness.

I didn't think it did; just more of my humor.
Depends on how you define 'level' as to whether I agree. Bloobs gets sober?
