Personally I don't mind the advertisements. They are easy enough to ignore unless one perks my interests. Just wanted to put in my vote for keeping them if they help defray some costs.

The only advertisement that bothers me is the "Spread the Word" advertisement that is placed right over the Wilshire 500 Chart at the bottom of the page. All you have to do is drag your cursor over that ad, then the pop-up box opens and blocks the chart. I invariably manage to click on the pop-up box while trying to expand the Wilshire 500 chart and I am whisked off to another webpage. Other than that, I don't pay any attention to any of the other advertisements.

As far as the TSP Center website making money...more power to them if they can. When folks have to put this much effort into running what is an outstanding website, I don't mind paying for it.

If they could manage to make ONE-MEEL-YON DOLLARS from running this website I say, "By all means!" Bill saw a niche (or a need) and came up with and put forth a great site that is brimming with info and membership. I'll donate to the cause even if it means the site turns a profit. IMO, for the service that is provided, Bill and the moderators OUGHT TO BE making a little money from the site.

Many sites offer an ad free option for a bit more money. That offsets the income from ads. I won't even begin to tell you the ads I don't like to see. How is that for not beating up on republicans? (Inside joke.)

Are you referring to furloughed government employees? Some folks think we are criminal to be on the payroll.

No, the state run media is not covering it, so you would have missed it, but supposedly someone high up ordered DHS to release their detainees.......you know, the ones we were only going after because they were the worse of the worst!

We are not even under sequester yet! When that kicks in whoever that person was will probably open all the prisions!

I happened to find this thread because of the pop up ads. I had no pop up ads until about a week ago and I get a few everyday. I was wondering if I accepted ads from some website or this website? Just wondering.
