The 50,000-foot view has been a market that has failed to sell off despite negative news from Europe. This occurred as a number of the glamours built five-week basing patterns and began to break out.
All that was missing was a major accumulation day, which the market got on Friday. The S&P cleared the top of a brief range and set a higher high, turning the trend up. Speculators who like to hold winning positions for a few weeks to a few months are presented with a number of technically-attractive setups in the leaders.
