2/12/15 - Bounce or Sign of Bottom
2/11/15 was a bad day but rumors of OPEC considering a production slow down seem to have put some mid-day bounce in the market's step. Still...bounce or sign of bottom? 7 day pole attached with the option to change your mind. LOL

I just hate watching the AGG in the F Fund and then watching the TAPR. One in red, one in green. Wish someone could make a app just for the funds. Id pay for it sigh.

Intra-day is starting to look like another humpback.

Right now, the markets are tightly coupled to the price of oil. And its price is already so depressed, I find it hard to believe that it's going to go very much lower. In my mind, there are plenty of plausible events, black swan or not, that could swing its price back up, or at least clearly signal it's at a bottom, despite the predictions of plenty of astute observers. Stock markets would surely rebound. Of course, there could be latent economic system faults yet to be revealed that could suddenly push indices down another 15-20%. Hardly anyone can know these things for sure.
Looking out over the herd, I think the investor sentiment right now is probably more gloomy than it should be, so I'm not afraid to buy into dips, when I feel so moved. I can afford to ride out some more of this grinding sinkage, if that where we get. If we get a major drop, or a hit a plateau, I'll pick up some more C and S, and take it from there. I certainly don't think that we are in a seasonal "place", so I'm not even watching those investing strategies right now.
Bottom line: 1500's? That's not a realm where I would lay my money down. I think you will probably miss the bottom if you wait for that kind of sinkage before buying back in.
Disclosure: Like Sig, I use this account to hone my skill. In my real TSP, my "life-savings", I'm just 20% in C and S, when my risk tolerance allows me to be in equities only about 40% in the very best of times. Watching every day for the next opportunity to "buy low".
Nothing scientific here, so of course, your/our mileage may vary.

Stock Indices and oil are two different markets...two different animals.
Oil has been crashing since June of 2014. Not so much with the stock indices.

That was then, this is now. Different, yes, but marching in stride lately, if you do a side by side comparison. For now, anyway.

A very small sample, and no way to know the knowledge level of the voters.
Oh, you was asking about the stock market. I'm sorry I thought it was about something else
