The Fed rate hike was announced on Dec 16, 2015. The F-Fund started to get shaky in early October leading up to the hike. A similar pattern to what we are seeing now.

It was shaky due to uncertainty and back & forth between Dovish/Hawkish comments --will/won't the Fed raise rates? very similar to now; but once they did it everything adjusted and the F Fund increased steadily. Since the Fed has repeatedly said any increase will be gradual, I just don't see a major change for .25% change in rate unless the economy start contracting or stock market begins to tank.

What specific signals in the charts do you see that indicates caution for the F Fund or AGG? or just because it is trending sideways?

I transferred 100% to F on 07/21/16, based on this chart http://schrts.co/AVg6gC
And since then the F fund has been moving mostly sideways (+0.54%).
The stock funds for the same period of time have returns of:
C Fund +0.92%
S Fund +3.48%
I Fund +5.24%
I can't say its not somewhat frustrating, but I can only use the resources I have. The market has fooled a lot smarter people than I. And in this game, no lost or a small gain still can be counted as a win.

Tomany,

Amen brother. In this environment managing risk vs return is the primary objective. After the 2008 crash it took over five years to get back to the 2007 high. This market is underpinned by QE money, super low interest rates, and equities being the only game in town. None of these conditions are sustainable.

Tommie don't you wish you had unlimited IFTs so you could take advantage of the F Fund moves in the range it is in?

Relevant caused it. The market has a way of making a liar out you. I should know, its done it to me quite often. We have talked about the phenomenon. If you see something about to happen, and then you tell other people. It ends up doing the opposite.

It happens to you a lot too doesn't it Cron?

Relevant - quick please post something again and make the F Fund go back up! :D
