F-Fund Trouble?

F-Fund Trouble?
The F-Fund has been struggling the past 2 months indicating that it might be time to cash-in. With potential Fed rate hikes looming later this month and/or in December, bond price pressures are likely to grow..
The last Fed rate hike occurred last December. As you can see in the following chart, the F-Fund performed poorly leading up to the last hike.

Re: F-Fund Trouble?
Relevant is it safe to assume you are not in the F Fund? Would you mind sharing your YTD return since this site will not tell us how you are doing?
Re: F-Fund Trouble?
Yes, I am no longer advocating the F-Fund. I recommended moving "some" to the F-Fund in February on this site. I stated on this site that the F-fund continued to outperform in April.
I then identified a stall in upward momentum on my site in August. And am now recommending an exit.
I did not recommend specific percentages in any of my prior posts because there are too many diverse personal situations to consider. All I can says is that I began recommending the F-Fund in February and I am cancelling that recommendation now.

Not bad for a conservative investment approach. Thank you for sharing this information with us as we have no way of knowing how well you've done if you don't tell us.
Re: F-Fund Trouble?
Thanks, Relevant. I didn't know that you are a conservative investor.

Since this seems to be a post for the F-fun, not necessarily related to the risk factor of being in F but any ideas why it seems to have shot up so rapidly this morning?

It's in a tight trading range. You have to look at it over a longer period. The highest it's been in a fortnight was 112.73 and it came back down to a point where today it looks like it is jumping higher. The trading day is young.
Re: F-Fund Trouble?
Problem with exiting the F fund. "I haven't got any where else to go". Stocks are at all time highs. I guess the F fund is to for that matter. If I exit F now to G and wait till the end of the month for a move to S or C, I guess that could work and still be in line with seasonal strategies. If I stay in G I know I won't grow fast enough.
If the pressure is off the Fed to raise rates in September won't that give the F fund a little running room for a higher exit date later in the month. I hate to use a precious little IFT.

Relevant caused it. The market has a way of making a liar out you. I should know, its done it to me quite often. We have talked about the phenomenon. If you see something about to happen, and then you tell other people. It ends up doing the opposite.
It happens to you a lot too doesn't it Cron?

Talking heads say September rate increase off the table. Tomorrow will say something opposite.

Tommie it happens only when I apply the Tangentional Method of Investing.
Correlation between Stock & Bond funds
It doesn't seem like the increase in January had a detrimental impact on the F Fund. Seems like F&C have a positive correlation the last few days. For those of you that use charts, are there any specific signals you use to determine what F Market may do?
