Investment gurus?

Post by cswift01 »

In general I don't have much belief that a person can predict the stock market, not even financial gurus. When I read this from Marketwatch I became somewhat disappointed in the "journalism" as the graph that was included had some major problems:

Check out the 2000/1 and 2008 bubble that was not predicted.

What does this article prove? That once again timing the market is a very, very difficult task.

Enjoy,

No one can predict the market. But, I like to look at 2008 as a bad year. Then all the years after it.

Not to toot my own horn, but I have predicted the market consistently well over the years: I buy equities, they fall; I sell equities, they rise.

My investment strategy was recently recognized as the third certainty in life, after death and taxes.

TSPcenter can't predict day to day, but can arrange that all funds will have zero returns from yesterday. How cool if you lose a few percent and then just erase it. Sweet. :?

You noticed. I wonder how long it will take to be fixed.

Yeah, but if you go to the tsp.gov website you see that they haven't posted yesterday's share prices yet. Is that odd? I seriously asking because I don't know.

It's a little after 4:00 CST, TSP fund prices are posted. Everything but G Fund is down in price so update is overstated for 3/8

The zero's are fixed. Thx guys we're up to date. Not too shabby for a cost free opportunity to hone one's investing skills. I appreciate you.

I agree, but what about our TSP performance leaders on this site? I like the 360 day leaders list, (http://tspcenter.com/listTop.php?mode=1 ... =&pageID=1)

I’m going out on a limb, and say that 96-98% of them are probably leaning the wrong way right now.

Speaking of that, DAMAN3183 should have more watchers.

You gave me an idea for another thread, something I have been thinking about for a while.
