Re: Corporate Profits Versus Corporate Profits
They all lowered their outcomes so now any upward movement is deemed positive.
Kind of like how the politicians lower future spending and say they cut the budget even though actual spending had increased. Just not as much as it could have been.
Now corporate says profits are up but actually they are down. LOL

I am just an average Joe. I have no clue to what the market will do.

*Yawn*
He is talking what they are saying out of context. Pointing to first quarter profits and comparing them to fourth quarter profits. The Article was comparing first quarter profits for 2017 to first quarter profits for 2016. Which are higher. You can't compare Christmas spending in December the 4 quarter to spending in the 1 quarter of the next year.
If you even look at the line he drew to 2011, it's the fourth quarter of 2011. So our first quarter profits are almost as strong as the strongest quarter from 2011. That actually seems good to me.
If you take amount to think about the numbers he chooses to compare, you start to realize he has manufactured his arguments to say what he wants.

OCTOBER: This is one of the peculiarly dangerous months to speculate in stocks in. The others are July, January, September, April, November, May, March, June, December, August, and February. - Pudd'nhead Wilson's Calendar
