Hello All,

Former military, turned into TSP investor and government employee.

Currently have about 24% in L2050, and the rest in (48)C, (16)S, and (12)I. About 8300$ in TSP so far, trying to maximize good RoI's, and looking for a knowledgeable community.

Outdoor activities involve fishing and eventually retiring and doing more fishing while TSP pays for my kids to go to college.

Welcome to the community. There is a lot of knowledge on these boards.

A great place to start is with Aitrus' Seasonal Musings
Also, you may want to look at your distribution. L2050 already has C, S, & I built into it.

Marines. One of the few, the proud, that used TSP and his GI Bill.

I was thinking of the seasonal market. Go for the 100% type gigs. I am 28, and at 5% TSP from salary + 5% from work. Still have a lot to learn, and eager for advice.

Fat old Army hunter here, looking for the tsp to take me and the wife on all our dream trips, Market is alittle unstable. Look at the leader board and top money board pick you horses and follow them, that's what I been doing and reading market news, and when one of the heavy hitters on this sight does an ITF I get a text so I may follow and I may not, I'm safe in G right now
Jesus, please guide us is all we do?

Yes Sir, Oorah! I like to record the share prices at each payroll contribution and past IFT’s then weigh out my gains and losses when considering an IFT. At the same time I look at the activities section in TSP.

I am mid forties and during my four years in the Air Force I had an E-6 brief the young Security Police the importance of saving and investing a minimum of 15% of earnings. Had I followed that sage advice 20+ years ago... I would be a TSP millionaire by now. These strategies seasonal strategies are fine; but the most important thing you can do is invest $18,000.00 into your TSP every year. Investing 15% is not enough, max that sucker out every year with payroll deductions, you are pushing thirty, well it won't be long and you will be pushing fifty and wishing you had maxed out your TSP for the past 20 plus years.

Current budget in DC only allows for 5% + overtime to get around 6K in. However, when the next promotion arises, it will increase to roughly 10%. I will do my best to max out as soon as possible.
