Lost Everything!

Post by gmation2k »

Well, maybe not what you think. I was on my phone trying to 'X' out of an advertisement bar and somehow my whole fantasy TSP account got wiped out. Lost several years worth of data. I've sent requests to have it restored, but I have not heard back. How do I fix this??

Try search app bar or go into settings and search downloaded files or connect your phone via sub cable to your computer and use search for lost active files

Nothing yet. Hopefully it’s a simple matter of putting it back where it was and updating it.

Guys, this website is free. Speaking from experience, what he makes in ads probably doesn't pay for the website expenses, and on top of that, he has to VOLUNTEER his time to run it.

Please be grateful/patient.

If anyone gets paid anything from anyone he or she is no longer volunteering anything. They are getting paid for their time regardless of the amount they are making! You would have to be a pretty far left liberal to think anything is free!

By that definition, nobody "volunteers" anything ever since "getting paid" can be anything of value whether tangible or not.

Webster's Dictionary:
vol·un·teer
ˌvälənˈtir/Submit
noun
1.
a person who freely offers to take part in an enterprise or undertake a task.
synonyms: subject, participant, case, patient; informalguinea pig
"each volunteer was tested three times"
verb
1.
freely offer to do something.
"he volunteered for the job"

"You would have to be a pretty far left liberal to think anything is free!" => you would have to be a pretty far left liberal to volunteer.

Stop twisting mj's words, only far left liberals do that  . Everyone knows that nothing is free. But you do not pay anything to use this site, so therefore for YOU it is free.
As for getting paid, if he receives less from ads than what he pays to maintain the site he is not getting paid, he is paying to keep the site active. He is just paying less than if he did not have any ads.

I’m sympathetic to that. I was just hoping to have my data recovered and updated sooner than this. It’s been one week.

gmation2k,

The mods (all two of us) are here on pretty much a daily basis. King, on the other hand, drops by when life lets him.

From what I gather, this was originally a side project / labor of love / experiment. Now life has taken over in a big way the past few years, so he can't come by every time there's a problem. He comes by as often as he can, but as others have said, this is a pro-bono thing for him and he has to prioritize his time. Please be patient.

Was it reset to the starting $100k? If it turns out that it never gets fixed, then just think of it as a involuntary reset of your account. Like a friend saving over your old high score on accident, and you just have to start over from the beginning. Clean slate, and now you're wiser from your experiences and can have another run at it with the benefit of all that knowledge.
