Shut down over, what next?

Shut down over, what next?
I am planning to stay with the S fund until February 12, then do a IFT in to the G fund. The reason being is that the story of the building of the wall is not over. By February 15, will the President get his wall, or will he shut down the government again?
Anyone have thoughts on which fund to be in during these turbulent times?
Thanks

Re: Shut down over, what next?
I was just realizing today that every time I think a normal decision will be made, somehow they make the exact opposite. Having said that, the vocal majority on this forum is very pro 45 so I will share my opinions on that elsewhere. So, going to G sounds good although F might not be bad this year.head wrote:I am planning to stay with the S fund until February 12, then do a IFT in to the G fund. I echo cswift. I think this year, is finally look like a return to the F fund. When the market is good, F is down C/S/I are performing. When those are down, there are accurate returns coming back from the F. Although G is safe, (I'm out of moves for the month), I think China will be determining the strength of the market for the next few weeks. Gov shutdown will come into play march/april in earnings though, I imagine most of those reports will be quite low.

Re: Shut down over, what next?
Many businesses over bought/stocked in the fall preparing for a trade problem with China. The markets will reflect a contraction over the next four months no matter what. The question is if this will get hyped that the sky is falling or more rational thinking that this is a normal business wave. Either way expect markets to be down, unless they go up.

Watch for Fed tomorrow. If dovish (no rate increase) I would expect a rally for a few days.
Re: Shut down over, what next?
I dont think I will be nervous about the another possible shutown. I stayed in S fund during the last and made a killing. I am curious about the historical data betwwen shutdowns and the market. Maybe worth looking into?

The WALL? F'n A!
I moved most to the G today... to keep on topic. Keeping some in the F. Abusing the F like it's the G's red headed stepchild ( no offense gingers), in the meantime. Best of luck all. My 2 cents.
Looking forward to something more aggressive in Feb. Gonna try not to blow my 2 moves before the 10th....buy and hold jlozano....
