Would Jesus have an emergency fund

Post Would Jesus have an emergency fund
My opinion: Jesus had one purpose on earth to shed his blood, for without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sins. If there is no remission there is no salvation, and if there is no salvation than being on earth would be most miserable for all. It is my opinion that Jesus did not have an emergency fund. I also believe that as humans we are to imitate Christ but also understand that we are human and can never be Jesus. While the disciples were with Jesus they did not need to fast they didn't need to store in barns because the bridegroom was with them. Hence, Peter receiving the coin from the fishes mouth. Notice the change after the death and resurrection of Jesus. The disciples then began to fast and individuals shared all the wealth so that all had sufficiency. Where are the five loaves and two fish miracles? Don't misunderstand me, Jesus still performs miracles today and uses his people to perform them, however the new covenant is that each individual who believes in Jesus Christ receives the Spirit of God and through obedience of the Spirit receives his revelation and knowledge to lead a life that keeps the saved individual from becoming busybodies. So wisdom for us today says save for the bridegroom is coming, but not yet here.

Post The Money Changers
Jesus chased the money changers from the house of God, is it possible that here in the place of money changers we can conduct business without invoking any deity?

Post Jesus Saves
I see many bumper stickers in the Miami area saying Jesus Saves. So I guess its a good idea to have an emergency fund.

It's a string thing. What is interesting is to place all of this discussion within the movie "Close Encounters of the Third Kind." Only most of the authors aren't going to get to the landing site. Arrow

Post Jesus saves (and so should you) and other random thoughts
I can't quote scripture to back this up, but ....

There are many instances of men being wealthy in the Bible. Abraham comes to mind. I have to believe that Jesus would have wanted us to be rich. Abraham was a wise man. If he is someone after whose traits we are to aspire, then we should do what is necessary to obtain wealth. I have to believe that includes having an emergency fund to take care of unexpected expenses.

He said that we should prosper and be in good health. Does that mean that you should not have health insurance? I think not.

We are to take care of the widows and orphans. How can we do that if we have a net worth of zero or below without cash in order to perform this function?

Post Would Jesus have an emergency fund cont.
In summation to the many responses concerning my post, here it is. A persons relationship can never be separated from discussions of money. The choices we make in TSP and the choices we make in any investments will always correspond to who we are and the relationships we have. A person who has suffered the affliction of cancer is more likely to invest in cancer research as well as someone who has a relationship to Jesus is more likely to give money when missionaries around the world have a need. This is a general tsp discussion and so I assume a general discussion is what I would give. As far as money changers being chased from the house of prayer, one God will do as he pleases and two those were thiefs, not righteous business men, the new covenant had arrived and it was now time for the new. Not to labor this too much, however the old covenant or Old Testament required one to sacrifice animals for sin, the new covenant or New Testament is Jesus crucified for the sin a man, doves and bullocks are not required for man to be forgiven, a turning away from sin and asking Jesus to forgive us, is the answer for man.

The economy is hurting even now churches are even hurting, some are closing. The present economic distress has many desiring an emergency fund and our lust for things not needed is waning. Jesus doesn't need an emergency fund, but requires his children to be wise as serpents and gentle as doves.
