 tspProphet
How does he do it?? Moved out of equities in mid April just before the mks peaked and sat out the entire correction until July 1st, just before the mkt bottomed. On the wrong side of a trade only twice since he joined. That's incredible..
We know u got game tspP but what is the game??? share with the homies !!!!

I only watch the moves of 2 people closely, TSPProphet and... you. You are both superb at knowing the future.

 TSP Leaders
I would like to have the top 3 each month share with everyone their ideas or rather what they look for when trading their accounts. I think it would be useful to newbies.......like I use the 10 day moving average over the 20 day to trigger buys and sells......etc....
Just a thought.

please make your move on tspcenter early like around 10AM, so us newbies have time to follow the same day.

I don't think so. Nobody is that lucky. I didn't put in a great performance last year either. The fundamentals were not in and I simply didn't trust the mkts. TspP might have had similar sentiments.
I know this much. The S&P 500 (C-Fund) is the benchmark Barron's, WSJ, Morningstar, ect, applies to evaluate the performance of investment managers. Pull up TspP's chart from the day he started and check it against the C-Fund. He blows the index away. He doesn't strike me as a "flash in the pan", but time will tell.

Does he/she post on the forums at all? In the last bear run he got out virtually at the peak and back in at exactly the bottom... amazing. Given that virtually all of the indicators are delayed by at least a couple of days I just dont see how that was even possible.

Just about to ask that same Q @jeffvan1
I miss out some nice comments in this forum, I was sick for almost two days with diarrhea ... But jeffvan1 I'm with you man, How does he do it??. You know what amazed me, he did his last move in the weakened, he didn't wait up to Monday 1200 pm like any normal guy do just to check out how the market is doing.
May recommendation for TSPprophet is make a forecast webpage for TSP funds and I will be the first one to pay anything to be in his newsletter.
PS: I just visit this nice new page, http://www.PredictWallStreet.com. Its a collective predictive site it looks I'm the only one predicting AGG fund. Maybe you guys can come in also its free.

Just put them in your watchlist and sign up to have an email automatically generated when they post a allocation change... couldn't be simpler.
Unfortunately, the emails go to my [BULK] folder, and I miss them too often... costing me thousands!
The downside to having them talk about their strategies, is that the mere change in their behaviors can alter their market analysis... and second-guessing themselves. I'd rather have them quiet and successful, and just give us a heads up when they are going to be off the grid for a while, and miss posting some moves.

Id have to disagree with that. These guys have been successful for a long time and seem to know what works and what doesnt... they dont necessarily have to debate their methodology, I would just like to know their thinking. You know the old saying, give a man a fish...
If TSPProphet has a method that works well and then he gets bored of this site or whatever and leaves in 6 months, then nobody will have any idea how to continue what he was able to do. If he doesnt want to share that is up to him, but if he is willing to do so it would be in everyone's benefit.

To put his year to date return in perspective, the year isnt even over but if you were to get a 20% annual return (5% less than what he has already) each year for 30 years, contributing the max 16.5k with a 5% govt match (5.5k)... you would have:
37.4 million in 30 years.

Then tspProphet will have slight different with 25%/yr = approx. $89.6M

Can tspKing increase the savings calculator to 40% max for tspProphet?
Then again, he's a prophet, and he probably knows how much he'll have in 30 years.
It's a good thing we aren't permitted to change our TSP more frequently...don't want him taking over the world!

My take is he is satisfied with the 25% return for the year. It wouldn't surprise me if he sits it out for the remainder of the year considering he's already whipped the market's a#@

Maybe but I dont think so... the calendar year is arbitrary... To stop attempting to 'beat the system' at any point doesnt really make sense. If a good buying opportunity arises Im sure he'll jump in. Nothin in the past few weeks has been all that positive to necessarily question why he has stayed on the sidelines.
