Re: Retirement
Agree with the above and would also like to add that if you haven't you may want to look into WAEPA insurance. It is for government employees and their spouses. Much more competitive rates for term insurance. I've been very happy with their prices and products. Currently hold both mine and my wife's...

Re: Losing out on Compound Interest by not rolling over TSP?
Rolling your tsp out to an IRA would only really change your investment options. If you are happy with the TSP funds then you aren’t hurting anything by leaving it. Look into the specifics though because I believe you can roll funds out of the tsp and if you keep a minimum of 200$ invested with TSP ...

Re: Still in S
Most prudent investors will say that we should be in for the long haul. Why would you realize a 30 percent loss when you don't know the future? It could keep going down or it could recover. I will make clear though that I am a bit and hold. Chasing and timing requires too much risk and knowledge tha...

Re: WAEPA vs. FEGLI
33 years old and hold 100k from WAEPA. Just paid my bill for this year which was 42$. Still hold some fegli but in reality I should probably move everything to waepa. Much better pricing. Waepa site has some great comparison tools.

Re: F Fund Blues
Sitting in G at the moment. Not much above the loss of the F fund at the moment. But a few numbers to keep people on track. In 2014 January saw a drop of #17842 of 2.9%. It ended the year at 26%. The C fund was the star fund at 13.78% for B&H. 2010 saw a dip of 3.7% in January and in June saw a ...

Re: What daily strategy are you following for 2018?
Daily Seasonal #17842 Mean: 28.32% Std Dev: 2.37% Time in Stocks: 55.2% G:45% F:0% C:16% S:34% I:5% Now considering 20241 though. Almost exactly the same as 17842 except a slightly lower Std Dev and 4% in F. Love the way above average gains and low std deviations. I figure if you get even 50% of the...

Re: New and I need help with allocation/timing
Welcome to the forum. Here is a breakdown of the L2050 for January 2018 G: 11.5% F: 6% C: 43.45% S: 14.3 I: 24.75 As it sits now then you are currently allocated 82.5% stocks. If the market were to correct then you would feel that correction if you stayed in the L2050. So buying CSI now or later doe...

Re: I fund move out?
If you are following a daily seasonal that calls for a move tomorrow what would be / is your indicator for moving out a day early or a day late? Curious as I see I a lot of people speculate and play with the dates. I realize that the indicators for future performance based on past performance are sp...

Re: Health Savings Account - Suggestions for more
I love having an HSA. I currently use GEHA HDHP with HSA Bank. I've had no issues with HSA Bank as a handler. I'm 30 and do not use the doctor often. I primarily utilize my HSA to pay for dental / vision expenses not covered under EyeMED (GEHA included eye insurance) and my additional dental insuran...
