Re: Futures down sharply.
ouch Yeap. Well after my hugely ill-timed move to 100% S Fund as of the market open on Thursday, I went back 100% G Fund today. I did not fully recover, but it was close enough that I am happy. I still have 1x IFT left for the month (since Wednesday was May), which I'll use to get back in if the co...

Re: The Ticking Spanish Time Bomb
Jahbulon, do you have the source for the first graph? I am interested in how they are defining unemployment... if it's the same as U3 here, or if it's more akin to U6.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Futures down sharply.
I went from 100% G to 100% S on Wednesday. It processed Wednesday night and during Thursday's session ended up not too far off-base. The question is, what are we thinking as for today and the near-term? I want to hedge against more losses, but with the 2x IFT rule also don't want to cut myself out o...

IFT Deadlines?
Missed the online IFT by about 30 seconds. Last time that happened I called TSP and they made it happen for the evening. Someone on here mentioned that if you call, you generally have until 1pm EST and the IFT will take effect same-day. This time they said nope not going to happen. Anyone know what'...

The best advice I ever heard came from The Motley Fool to me: "If you're a trader moved by news headlines (emotions) then just turn off the news." Easier said than done.

Where now?
Half of my watch list is S Fund, half is F fund. I've been riding out the S after joining the party late, but can't see how much is left in the punch bowl. How high are we going? I don't want to wipe my small gains off the table. I'm partially worried that maybe those who are staying in have a large...

Re: Unofficial 2011 Winner - Mt. Man
Though not the title winner, take a look at RREIF, who is up 27.21% on 5 allocation changes, and an account that was just started on August 4th.
Both traders are very very impressive. Kudos all around.

G or F or G and F
What decision making process do you go through when deciding on going 100% G, 100% F, or some combination of the two? When I see people move 100% G, I think, "They're taking flight to safety because they believe their current funds will move negative." If that's the case, why not just go 1...

WOW. I wonder if he understands that the world works on the margin.
If it makes you all feel better, I left the FDIC earlier this year to go private and we have a freeze too...

Re: And this is a new topic. But maybe a gamechanger.
I simply do not understand how the law can be constructed to hurt the physical tangible workers producing goods for the economy by taxing more, while allowing corporations - an entity that doesn't eat, breath, or can go on stand in a trial - breaks. For example: 2009 Exxon Mobile made 19 billion in ...
