Re: Unclaimed Property $$$
I found money but couldn’t claim it. It was a cashier’s check from 10+ years ago. And they required that I have a copy of the check to claim it. The bank doesn’t keep records past a few years. The state continues to make interest off unclaimed property.

Higher High, Higher Low, Full Body Candlestick breaches ever-important 200-Day SMA… And if the higher highs continue we could see the 50 EMA cross above the 50 SMA as early as Wednesday which would be added confirmation. Just in time for the debt ceiling fiasco to send the market down on Thursday “...

Curious, I thought there was a mix that went on S or C the 1st of the month and then G the rest of the month?

Re: So... When to Sell?, Idea #1
You don’t seem to make much gain between the buy and sell points but at least you don’t loose a lot between sell and buy points. Looks like you would lose out on a lot of upswing between the June low and the Aug high. And from the Oct low to the Nov high?

Re: Stay Calm Index
So why did the fund rates jump north of 5% on the morning of 11/10 out of the blue? The CPI number for inflation came in .3 lower than expected. So investors take this as good news that the Fed hiking of interest rates is finally working to bring down inflation. So the hope would be that future Fed...

Re: Mid-term election year pattern
Well if the Reps win the House tomorrow and Dems control the WH, regardless of how the Senate goes we will have a divided government keeping all parties in check for at least 2 years. Various commentators I’ve heard interpret this as a good thing in regards to the stock market.

Re: 2023 (COLA)
https://www.fedweek.com/fedweek/january-retirement-cola-set-8-7-percent-for-csrs-7-7-percent-for-fers/ Looks like the second year that the pension COLA is about twice that of the general pay increase. If inflation keeps running well above 2% maybe it's better to retire earlier than later? Just reme...

Re: 2023 (COLA)
Hmm, just my luck, I turn 62 in Nov 2023, so my SS will start in Dec, 2023 and my OPM retirement does not get a scheduled cola until I turn 62. So I’m guessing I might get 1/12 of the scheduled increase for 2023. And by 2024 hopefully inhalation is under control but the cola will probably be much lo...

2008 was actually a Presidential election year. Obama’s first term.wingchaser wrote: ↑Sat Oct 01, 2022 12:19 pm If memory serves me (correctly), 2008 was a Mid-Term Election Year…

Re: Just Like clockwork...
At the moment, I’m not alone with my overaction to the matter… Back below the infamous 50-Day SMA!!! The Over/Under for today's losses has been set @ -4% IMO inflation has been baked in. So I think this is a money grab by institutional investors. It crashes and takes your money when you sell for a ...

Looks like it did just that, bounced off the 50 day and then dropped all the way back to the Lower Bollinger Band.

I’m retired now but at my agency did their best to weed out the good people. So by process of elimination some of the least qualified rose to the top to continue the cycle of running out the best talent. Our agency did good work in spite of the the George Constanza types who spent most of their time...

I suspect it wants to try again tomorrow to test the 50 EMA Wow, what a day! Now let's see if the SPX (/ES) can break through the 50 EMA (June 28th high) and hold in the aftermarket... any guesses? My guess would be that it fails at the 50 EMA just like in the past few attempts. There doesn...
