Re: 2022 Federal Pay Raise

I think that the logic is sound, seprating out fixed costs vs other costs. The complicating factor is that inflation hits some categories harder than others. Food, energy, and gasoline are way up. Even if you have a lot of your costs at a fixed rate you might get slammed extra hard in the other cate...

Amen.

The statement succinctly counters the false dichotomy that the COVID-19 vaccine is either 100% effective or useless.

Re: Executive Order on Requiring Coronavirus Disease 2019 Vaccination for Federal Employees

I am neither a doctor nor a lawyer. I can't tell you if the president's order is legal or not. I also won't try to convince you that listening to medical professionals is a good idea. I understand that mandating anything hardens resistance. That is a natural human reaction. I got vaccinated as soon ...

Re: Is the dam finally breaking?

I'm in the G based upon a seasonal strategy. This is spooky. The market goes up and down but seems to still be on an upward trend. It's going to be a hard decision for November. I made a lot in the last two years. I'd hate to lose it but I would also hate to lose the opportunity for another great ye...

Re: Executive Order on Requiring Coronavirus Disease 2019 Vaccination for Federal Employees

Vaccines aren't 100% effective. We know that. Throwing that known fact out is pointless. If it reduced my chance of dying by 1% I'd be in and it's closer to 80% or more. How many people died from the COVID-19 vaccine? How many died from COVID-19? It's not a complicated decision. But don't look here ...

Re: Seasonal Musings 2020

Checking in to see if I understand TSPcalc. Using 95078 as an example, you often make more than 1 transfer per month? So for February you'd move to F on the 14th and then to G at the end of the month

Stop thinking about yourself. If you tell all of us that you are about to make a change the rest of us could really profit :)

Hey thud. We are absolutely on the same page. My gut tells me natural gas and fracking is a bait and switch of some sort but that's an emotional reaction not anything research based.

Re: New Poll: Ethanol Subsidies

I am against most subsidies including those that directly or indirectly go to support the oil industry. I cautiously support subsidies for actual renewable and sustainable energy technologies (ethanol is non-sustainable). The problem is when politicians get involved and these well intentioned subsid...
