Re: Foghorn's FantasyTSP Account

The markets are sill in an uptrend but I believe that the next few days will bring some weakness that may push the S fund down a little before it continues going up. So, I will move to the G fund and watch what happens and then decide when to get back in.

Re: Horizon date

Suzanne, First, congratulations for thinking about your retirement needs and the various investment strategies that come with the TSP. My opinion is; the strategy that is right for you comes down to your risk tolerance. Your risk tolerance should be based upon your knowledge of the stock market or y...

Re: Foghorn's FantasyTSP Account

I hope I didn't stay in the market too long; if Monday doesn't get a quick uptick back into the green but continues with the downside into the red, then I'm going to have to take my lumps and get out.
Let's see what Monday brings.

Re: Foghorn's FantasyTSP Account

Fog - do you work strictly off your charts when you make your movement decisions, or do you take into account days when there are a number of potential market-moving economic reports due, seasonality, sentiment etc? I would have figured a poor Jobless Claims report and/or another poor Philly Fed re...

Re: Foghorn's FantasyTSP Account

Fog, do intraday highs count for the levels you posted, or just closing values? W4500 is at 681.42 now so wondering if 689 is the next target. I think unless Bernanke says something crazy, we won't make it there, so I pulled out to 75%G / 25%S. BohiDrool, this is what I look for; as long as the pri...

skiehawk11 wrote:Foghorn, I went into G today. I got called away so I didn't get a chance to move into G on here. If we break through 678, then the third resistance point will be likely.

Skiehawk11, yes if the $EMW makes it above 678 then 680 is possible, it's not a certainty but a possibility.

Re: Foghorn's FantasyTSP Account

I forgot to post the targets: Chart - $EMW 1st: 675 2nd: 678 (hard resistance - may pullback here) 3rd: 680 (this is likely as high as it may go), however, if the market continues to push, then the last target is, 4th: 689 (I don't believe it will reach this level but I may get pleasantly surprised...

Re: Foghorn's FantasyTSP Account

I'm moving into the s fund to catch part of the short-term bounce. I expect to be in the market between Monday through Thursday and then back to the F fund.
Wow, it's been a month since my last move. I've been watching but I didn't like the market conditions the whole time, until now.

Re: Holy Grail Research Lab

Hey, I'm in for learning something new especially if it works Mysticism? Voodoo? Not hardly. If the patterns can be charted, tracked, analyzed, and used effectively through math; it's science. I'm pretty sure that Einstein's Theory of Relativity was also labeled voodoo by those unschooled in higher ...

Re: Foghorn's FantasyTSP Account

Foghorn, did you use volume metrics to determine that the market didn't have enough juice to push through resistance. Skiehawk11, I used Fibonacci at three levels, chart patterns all the way back to 2009, and finally the 20, 50, and 200 MAs, and a lot of luck to help me to try to decipher the marke...

Re: Foghorn's FantasyTSP Account

Any kind of reason? Too much bull at to fast of a pace? Houston, I'm assuming that you're asking why I though the $EMW daily would fail at the $657 price area; because my analysis showed that it had two resistance formations at that level and it also had the 20 day moving average (MA) just above it...
