Re: Thoughts?

A bit unrelated...but I think this thread is a mixture of everything anyway, I recently read an interesting article in regards to our MFW https://www.fedweek.com/tsp/how-other-investors-use-the-tsps-mutual-fund-window-equivalent/ Seemingly this guy writes on other websites too. He's very vocal in m...

Re: Question's about retirement

I retired 4 years ago at 56 years old with 36 years of service. I’ve been taking a monthly distribution since I retired. I took a lot of risk when I was working and am now a little more diversified with C60 S16 F16 G8. My biggest question is, what is a good retirement mix? Im planning on leaving it...

Re: Retirement plan Help!

It all depends on how her employer sets up the plan. My brother has Fidelity through his employer and they have a lot of expensive funds in it. They have a lot of actively traded funs with high fees. For example a small cap value fund that's 1.25% fees. Also the fees to trade are high and they limit...

GLTA! Hope y'all can stick to your plans....I know I'm having a hard time doing it!

Cheers!

Same here. I am using the L2035 as my benchmark. Leaving the 133289 strat 2 days early because I just don't have the emotional control to stick it out. At heart I am more of a buy and hold guy.

I'm assuming you mean a "positive" monster.
Absolutely! I'm thinking a solid 5-6% to the positive would be real nice!

Cheers!

Re: In it to Win IT!

I've always been wondering if I should do a "halfsies" strategy, where I play with 50% instead of 100% using a strategy. If you were to remain in the S fund for middle to late October through March, April through the end of July in C, out in August, September and early October and then ru...

Re: In it to Win IT!

That reminds me of something I noticed when looking at several strategies. I noticed around a 3 day window for day of transfer between the several strategies I was looking at. Also reminds me that I have heard analyst say… if you miss these 5 or maybe it was 10 (some number) of positive days you wil...

pro-rata withdrawal? or not?

I have not looked into this to much but, it seems like TSP is fixing some of the problems I was using against them to advocate for leaving the TSP. One was the pro-rata withdrawal system. I am not sure if pro-rata applies to regular withdrawals and not to RMD's. I still have 9 years before I retire....

Re: Funny comment from TSP Board Meeting

I can see the new website getting low approvals just because it was new and hard to navigate. I am getting used to the website and find it easier to navigate now. Funny how they increased the variety of investments but still got a decline in satisfaction. I for one don't like the mutual fund window ...
