This guy has a lot on why he thinks C will outperform S right now... I like all his reasons and they make sense to me but I do note that he has been saying C over S all year and all year I've been in C wishing I had been in S!!!

Re: F the F Fund...
Rising interest rates are generally bad for the bond market. I'd be very wary of going anywhere near the F fund for the foreseeable future.

Personally, I think it is oversold right now. I sure wish I was not in right now, but since I am in I will ride this one out.

Re: June 3, 2015 - NOT UPDATED
Yea, this used to be my favorite TSP web page; now I just check it from time to time to read the threads, but even they are drying up. I still like this one's layout and I'd love to see it come back around, but it can't be relied on for daily market prices anymore and although there are still some g...

Re: I-Fund Analysis
Currency fluctuations are HUGE. Maybe a little hypothetical will help. A widget costs E100. The $ to E exchange rate is 1.00 to 1.00. (It takes 1.00 dollar to buy E1.00) You take your $100 and buy a widget. A year later it's value is up 20% to E120. But the value of the dollar has strengthened. The ...

Re: Why is the I fund for 4/1/15 messed up?
Because the I fund doesn't track EAFE Index as closely as other funds do their indexes and additionally the TSP adjusts the I fund with the "fair valuation" adjustment to minimize trading on stale prices due to the time zone difference.

Re: What if the interest spikes this June
It appears that when the rates start to rise that they will rise slowly. However, even a very small interest rate increase would keep me personally away from F and into G as a place to park money.

Big talk from both rhinelan and waynekaryn. Care to back it up by making your fantasy TSP public? That proves real quick who should be taken seriously!

Re: What to do with I fund allocation?
Hard question but I think the I fund is in for at least several negative months. The economic situation in Europe is not good right now. On top of that the dollar is rising against the I fund currencies and is likely to continue to do so. That puts you on the wrong side of the currency exchange and ...

Re: Latest from the TSP War Room
dcramer is correct. However, the US economy is still growing at a great place - just revised up to 5% for the 3rd quarter. Even with everything dcramer pointed out, the stock market will generally continue to do well when the US economy is growing at this pace. I think...

C vrs S fund
So far this year the C fund has significantly outperformed the S fund. However, a quick look at the top accounts by watch count shows that there are, as of right now, 10 on the first page that are 100 S and none that are 100 C. I myself have spent most of the year in S and right now I sure wish I ha...

It's going to take a lot more than a claim to be a multi-billionaire (though appearing to mean multi-millionaire) to get me to shell out any money.

Re: The F fund; Why not?
When interest rates go up, the F fund generally goes down. There is nowhere for interest rates to go but up. That and last year's performance are probably the reasons most are down on the F fund.
