FantasyTSP IFT Window Extended to 12:15 PM EST

Post by TSPking »

So as not to interfere with anyone's ability to get their actual IFTs (allocation changes) submitted at www.tsp.gov by the official 12:00 PM EST deadline, the IFT window for FantasyTSP has been extended to 12:15 PM EST.

Background on this decision: http://tspcenter.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=127

Sometimes it won't work

Let me just share what I was talking about over at tsptalk. A fellow TSP investor had their IFT request in about 20 minutes before the deadline yesterday. This morning he got a call saying that the IFT would take 2 days. From reading his post he seemed very p-o'd.

I know that on TSP.gov there is a disclaimer that IFTs may take up to 2 business days to process. As far as I can remember they've never taken that long for me. I had my IFT in yesterday about an hour before the deadline and it was processed timely.

Looking at the market today it seems this guy got screwed!!

I've never had that happen to me. Today is the worst timing possible for a trade to be delayed. I guess they cover themselves with their disclaimer...

I sure hope this doesn't become a common occurance. We can forgot about any attempt at timing the market if they aren't committing trades promptly

I processed my IFT yesterday at about 1145 with no problems that I'm aware of.. and I rcvd a conformation this AM. And Yes, a day late in this case would really suck!!

Regarding delayed interfund transfers, I wish they would have delayed my ITF I accomplished last Friday two days (Moved from G to S fund). I would have save nearly 3% loss. LOL But I have never had any problems with transfers -- they were always processed the same day I requested it if submitted prior to high noon.
