Site updates 12/24 - 12/31

Site updates 12/24 - 12/31
After the 12/24 price update takes effect, I am upgrading this website.
This is a massive undertaking and it's not going to go smooth. Various parts of this website will be down over the 3 day weekend. There will be error messages, missing/broken things. Just know that I am actively working on it so that the fantasyTSP game and realTSP will be back online before Monday.
Then I will be changing things like the graphs and site layout, hopefully to complete all the updates before New Year's.
Expected construction window is 12/24 - 12/31.
Daily backups will be taken in case I screw anything up. The reputation system will disappear temporarily until i figure out how to bring it back on the new site. But it is backed up.
Merry Christmas

I'm behind where I thought I'd be, but I'm doing good things.
This is more than a visual update. I've replaced the flash-player graphs with javascript graphs. And now the website will be "responsive" so it will look good on cell phones and tablets.
And I'm simplifying the interface by deleting a lot of the things that never get used. My intent is to put the "my Fantasy TSP" page and the Leaderboard on one page, separated by tabs.
Still intend on getting this all done before 1/1.
Sneak Peak:

Very clean Homepage. Looks great. Also, are you integrating Tspcenter with Tspcalc?mjedlin66 wrote:I'm behind where I thought I'd be, but I'm doing good things.

I think you should at least put a front page link to tspcalc.com I didn't know of the second website until someone happened to mention it. Since finding a strategy that i like, I have done very very well. I also put a couple of people in my watch list (tspcenter) and get alerts of their ITF s via text message . And use their itf s in my decision. Paying the $30 was nothing compared to how much I have made. thanks again. arthur

Re: Site updates 12/24 - 12/31
Wanted to give you all a status update.
I'm behind where I thought I would be. But I really wanted the "FantasyTSP" page to be an all-in-one page that shows you what currently takes several pages. I wanted the graphs to be able to change the X-axis date range without refreshing the page. I wanted to put the leaderboard on the same page as "my FantasyTSP". And I wanted the leaderboard tabs (30 day, 1 year, other years) to respond immediately without a page refresh.
So I've been working specifically on the graphs.
I was providing ALL graph data for ALL tsp funds on every page load. Each page load was requiring at least 2 MB of data transfer, which is a LOT because this should be optimized for cell phone use.
So I spent all day yesterday pushing the TSP fund data into an external file. The browser will download the external file once per day and cache it. Then the user's fantasyTSP graph data will be downloaded when you load the page. So now instead of 2MB per page load we are down to about 700 kb, or roughly 1/3rd the size.
The javascript will pull that external file, and put that data on the graph beside the user's fantasyTSP series.
It took me about a whole day to do that.
Meanwhile, TSPcenter had that issue on Monday's update, and when I fixed it, the IFTs for Monday and Tuesday were inadvertently deleted. And then TSPcalc for some reason had a database crash this morning that I had to repair. Add in that December is my busiest month for subscriptions, and there has 5-6 customer service problems for me to deal with every day.
In short, I'm swamped and I'm getting pulled in every direction. Luckily I'm off work this whole week so I'm handling it. This week has made me relieved that I'm starting a part-time work schedule next month. I guess I didn't fully appreciate how over-committed I was until now.
Thank you for your patience for the messed up IFTs. It shouldn't happen at all, and I'm frustrated that my "fix" for what started as a botched price update caused the IFTs to be deleted. I need better fixing scripts. Add it to the to-do list.

Re: Site updates 12/24 - 12/31
Site update delayed until January 16th.
I wanted to deploy it this weekend to get the graphs working, but there would be so many features missing from website if i did that.
Between now and Jan 16th I have another full week off so I will get it done.
