Housekeeping

Post by TSPking »

No sense having non-active users clogging up the LeaderBoard and wasting space in the FantasyTSP database. I'm thinking of adding an option to nightly processing which will delete users who haven't logged in for 60 days or more.

What do you think?

I'd wait till at least 120. With the seasonal approach I probably won’t make a change all summer. Just because I don’t log in doesn’t mean I’m not watching.

TSPKing, it would be interesting to query the db and see what the universe of "non-active users" is.

Other than about 20 or so users on here, I look at the rest (and sometimes including myself) as "onlookers." I get the sense that there are only a handful of people who are actively monitoring and changing their allocations on any kind of a regular basis.

I'm addicted to this site!! Thanks for having me.

Thanks for the comments. I'm going to back off of this idea. I was mainly concerned about making the LeaderBoard more interesting for those active in FantasyTSP. I wasn't thinking about those users who aren't using FantasyTSP but still visiting the forum.

I'm glad I got your input before doing something stupid :P

Housekeeping Revisited

Post by TSPking »

We had about 100 members who haven't logged in during the past 6 months. With FantasyTSP now tracking over 500 members, I'm starting to notice some response issues with the database.

This is easier to deal with now that we have the 'disable FantasyTSP' option available. Members who haven't logged in for over 6 months will have their FantasyTSP disabled. They are still active members of the forum and can easily enable FantasyTSP if they want to once they log back in.

TSPKing,

Would it be possible to see where "active" FantasyTSP members are invested? For instance, for all members who have logged on in the past 6 months, it would look something like:

F - 25%
C - 33%
S - 22%
I - 20%

Maybe it exists and I'm missing it.

Should have looked BEFORE I posted: http://tspcenter.com/leaderBoard.php?view=Statistics
