Advice on consolidating Military & Civilian TSP Accounts
Hi all - hoping to pick your brains. I left active duty years ago and took a position with the Feds, so I have an old Military TSP account and a new, active, civilian TSP account. I just recently found out that I can combine my military account into my civilian account. So my question is - is there any benefit to maintaining the two separate accounts? Which is the better option - combining or not combining?
Re: Advice on consolidating Military & Civilian TSP Accounts
Something to consider is not keeping two, but also not rolling them together. I believe you can transfer the military TSP into an IRA.
