Back to the S Fund?

Post by sconey »

Like others, I left S Fund earler in the month and am glad I did, based on its current performance. However, I assume it will rebound soon. Any others thinking of going back to S Fund to catch the bounce? And, if so, when? Thx, and good luck to all.

My chosen strategy says go back to S on the 25th of this month....but I monitor the market as a whole a take all decisions based on the totality of the market....and its associated reaction to the geopolitical events of the day...everything is a factor!

The S fund has peaked at $84+ 4 times this year and dropped back down to a low of $77+ the first 3 times.

February 12 - $84.72 (dropped back to $77.38 on March 4)
March 15 - $84.15 (dropped back to $77.51 on March 24)
Apri 29 - $84.81 (dropped back to $77.80 on May 12)
June 11 - $85.05 - - heading back down now.

I don't do (or really understand) technical analysis (which is why I follow seasonal here), but it seems like we have a ceiling for support around $84 and a floor around $78.

My plan has me going back to S Fund next Friday. I will do that unless we hit $78 beforehand and it starts to trend back up.

Thx to both for your response. I am particularly intrigued by those numbers, KTSPcalc. At least I feel better with something objective on which to base my current feelings/decisions, in addition to my seasonal strategy, other than my "gut". We all know where "gut" decisions often land us......

Now that I’m sittin’ (safely) in the G FUND, there are two (2) factors that will drive my reentry back into the market. W%R has to come off if it’s OVERSOLD marker & it’ll tell me when it’s ready. The next driver will be an impressive UPSURGE in a positive direction. There I’ll be looking for a strong GAP UP

move with confirmation from accompanying volume support.

Best of Luck (everyone) in all you choose to endeavor!!!

I'm getting more and more concerned about inflation on the horizon. I can see a big dip coming like the one in 2008. I'm less than 2 years from retirement, so I'm risk averse.

My concern is not enough to push me off my strategy (88676) and a move to S on June 25th. I will admit that I feel like a rabbit sitting in the middle of an open field, looking-out for a hawk to pounce.

I also think the Fed is in denial.

We seem to have a 10-15% correction every year. Will this be it? I think we will know by Tuesday.

I agree about the denial. If this pattern holds true for the "S" fund then we are looking at another 4% (pullback) or so until it hits support at around 2100. Good luck everyone.

Can you explain how 2100 is another 8.5% back?

I'm not seeing the math.

Good catch. I clearly wasn't seeing the math either, lol. Previous post corrected to reflect 4% instead

i got out just before the high. I need to see if the next support holds before I consider buying back in. I have reason to believe it will not. I do think a nice mid week bounce could take place before the shit show really starts. :D

I'm not risk averse...but definitely do not want a 4-5% pullback in my account either...I'm gonna continue to watch this market unfold and I agree with PhilJohn who said " The Fed is in denial." Real time inflation is much higher then their indicators are saying...I don't know about you all but if you look at lumber prices...things are out of control....

As an avid woodworker, when I see a 2x4x8 going for over $10 at my local HD I have to ask why, when a year ago one was going for $1.47....That's a huge jump...and they're trying to blame it all on the "Rona...

I don't think that's it...or at least not the whole reason why....something more nefarious is at work...
