Non-Fiction: The Fourth Turning - William Strauss and Neil Howe (this book is hard to read (lots of big words LOL) but really helps to understand generational differences... and though it was written in the 90's, wow they nailed predictions of what life would be like these days!...and now I know what to expect going forward though the 2020s and beyond)

Id also include Steven Ericksons Malazn series. Reading through it right now and it is quite excellent, along with Gail Z. Martins Chronicles of the Necromancer and Tad Willaims Shadowheart series. All of these are quite good and I would say recommended reading.
