How did your 2017 end up going?

Post by mmmmmbeer »

I started this year in Jahbulon's Old Mix until June then various Dailies throught the rest.

I ended up with a +23.17% 2017 real tsp yearly return using seasonal strategies. Beating the C Fund buy and hold by +1.25%...

Congrats folks on a great year and looking forward to many happy/heafty returns for 2018!

I pretty much did exactly the same as you. Started with Jahby's mix and swapped to a couple different dailies in July. I screwed up my fantasy TSP a couple of times, forgetting to make the IFT after I made the real life IFT. My real TSP made about 22.9% this year, therefore beating the S&P 500! I'm very happy!

I was Dave Ramsey 60/20/20 until late Aug before doing daily. Moved around a bit thru 3-4 strategies.

Finished the year at 22.13%. About 10% before switching.

I intend to follow 20241 exclusively this year.

I played each month by ear(eye). Just watched the current events and listened. My goal for my first year was 10%. I landed 18.85%. I'm happy!!!

I'm a big Dave Ramsey fan myself. Did his plan for a long time. He would not have pleasant things to say about this Daily Seasonal stuff, me thinks. Not initially, at least. Lol.

I was at another well known website following a well known service....Was not real happy with all the "on the fly-curve fitting changes" so I ended my subscription and found my way over here...
Joined in late August, played with TSP calc building tons of spreadsheets and started trading the dailies on 9/21 utilizing a 70% allocation
I will start 2018 utilizing 19984(0F)....I will continue to make spreadsheets...I hope to continue to make money...
Looking forward to an awesome 2018!

Yup.... I went through Financial Peace University as well several years back. I'm doing several no no's.... but I'm not worried. I'm not accumulating debt to invest.

PLUS.. unless your a MILLIONAIRE Radio Host/Author I am NOT going to be able to save up 25k to buy my car outright.... I'll take the 2.25% financing thanks....

My TSP balance doubled this year thanks to some promotions, solid advice in TSPcenter forums, a good market and an aggressive increase in contributions as a percentage of my pay. My only regret is that I didn't find this website sooner.

I started the Daily Systems in Early August with only about 6% before I started. I'm not even sure what I was trying to do up to that point. Some sort of follow the leaders that wasn't working. Anyway. I'm very happy for finding TSPCalc as I ended the year with 17.85%. Beat every other funds' B&H out there when looking from August 2 on.
100% in the daily system since August 2, 2017.
