Under the other topics of interest column

Post by crondanet5 »

is anybody else with Victory Capital after the USAA sellout? I am not pleased with their having to call me on my landline at 0300 to verify it is me. Fidelity and Merrill don't do that and I cannot understand their paranoia and apparently there is not an 0-8 on duty there to fix this mental issue. Should I just close the account?

I'm unaware of this issue. Can you provide some background on what's going on between Victory Capital and this "USAA sellout" you talk about?

I talked to USAA a while back when they announced they were getting out of the investment game. They told me they were getting back to their core activities, insurance and banking which they are very good at, and leaving the investment game to the multitude of other companies to choose from. I had accounts with USAA and Vanguard at the same time(using their funds and others), and the Vanguard accounts always seemed to do much better long term than USAA. When I heard they were transferring accounts, I transferred everything to Vanguard and did not look back.
