Re: Anticipation
Just wondering if you saw the note about the S fund crossing the friend line. That would have been a great day to buy
Re: Anticipation
I believe the force line has to move in the positive direction @ or around 0 to confirm the move to S.amybelieve wrote: ↑Wed Feb 10, 2021 11:47 am Just wondering if you saw the note about the S fund crossing the friend line. That would have been a great day to buy

Yes, that would have been a good time to move to the S.tnwhiskey wrote: ↑Wed Feb 10, 2021 2:31 pmI believe the force line has to move in the positive direction @ or around 0 to confirm the move to S.amybelieve wrote: ↑Wed Feb 10, 2021 11:47 am Just wondering if you saw the note about the S fund crossing the friend line. My buy signal with this system (as is now) says: Friend up 2 days in a row, while the Force is above 0.
I'm going with that a little longer, before I change it.
Prediction is hard. Either you know that, or you’re in denial about it. The reason it’s hard is because the visible stuff that happens in the world is a small fraction of the hidden stuff that goes on inside people’s heads.

Re: Anticipation
Ok, so for Monday, if the blue line thingy is up again, while the pink line thingy is still above zero, that means I should go back to S Fund?
Just trying to learn here.

Re: Anticipation
If the GREEN line thingy (not blue) has not had two days (in a row) down, while the pink line thingy is still above zero, that means this system says be in S Fund.
Yeah it kinda complicated,

Lately the Friend by it’s self has been the best indicator. Force has been too slow to signal an IFT.
I’m thinking of going back and revisiting the KISS principle.
Thanks Phil, I like that word “Thingy”,

Re: Anticipation
Perhaps you can "offset" the force line vertically, so it crosses the zero line sooner? If I understand your method correctly, the zero line is somewhat arbitrarily derived--and therefore adjustable per the most recent empirical evidence.Tomanyiron wrote: ↑Tue Feb 16, 2021 8:51 am ...Force has been too slow to signal an IFT.

Re: Anticipation
Force is a momentum thing. And called it good for that sell on Jan 22.
Maybe different indicator lines for buy than sell, have to do a lot of backlooking.
Slow momentum for selling, fast momentum for buying?

The "Thingy Index" would be so cool. I would tell all my friends I invented a name for complex investment strategies. (They would never believe that though).
