Oh, I'm right there with you on this one. They have no idea how the program works, which is why they hired me: to understand the system and let them know when it's broken and how to fix it. And yet, some of them still don't want to listen to me when I try to do the thing they hired me to do. MFRs are a wonderful thing.

My take on it is somewhat different. I tell them what they need to do to avoid or mitigate an impending clusterf***. They laugh me off, then come back 1year later to ask me to fix realized clusterf***.
