New Website Status & Bug Reports

Post by mjedlin66 »

You can now put in your IFTs for 1/28.

I am still working on a lot of things-
1. Buttons with gray on blue look bad.
2. Real TSP feature doesn't exist right now.
3. Some people need their accounts re-calculated because of an L fund bug.
4. No emails/SMS right now.
5. You can't see or add to your watch list yet.
6. No reputation system yet. It will be added and the old data re-imported.
7. etc, etc.

The "pending IFT" list is now one of the leaderboard options.

But you can input your IFTs. So just keep doing that on your schedule while I work out the rest of the problems.

File your complaints here in this thread so that Aitrus can pass them onto me and I can then ignore them politely.

Thanks
Matt

EDIT: "What was wrong with the OLD site?"

Good one!! Where's the ticker that used to be at the bottom of each page? Thanks. This is exciting and stressful.

Thanks for all the work you have done, this is fantastic. Sometime down the road could you add more scale to the y axis. Current scale is to large (course) to hard to evaluate the graphs. A small change (.25%) is hardly perceptible on the new graph.

The one that was broken for well over a year? It's gone.

Done. You might have to do a hard refresh. Ctrl+F5 on a computer. On chrome/Android, turn on "View Desktop" then turn it off again.

The new graphics are really nice. Fancy. Looking forward to using them.

I miss seeing the TPS fund's moving averages on this page: tspReturns.php?view=avg
Will this feature return?

My 2020 should be over 31% and my 2021 should be over 7%. Do you need my historical IFTs to manually input them?

This looks weird. On an Android device.

nygrizzly,

Give it some time. The old forum was coded using some very outdated methods and software, which introduced some bugs and security vulnerabilities. This new forum is easier for MJ to work on behind the scenes. He's built it from the ground up, so he knows all the nooks and crannies.

It looks like you are still kind of new to the forum, so you may not know that MJ isn't the original owner. He purchased it about 6 or 7 months ago. It was first designed using mid 2000's methods and software, and the site was badly in need of a coding update. MJ purchased this forum knowing he had a lot of work to do on it. He spent most of those months trying to fix things and keep the old site, but it was just too cumbersome and not worth the time in the state it was in. That's why he's spent a lot of time coding this new forum - and learning a bunch of new coding theory in the process. He's been burning the midnight oil on this project.

Let's give the man a break, shall we? He's been working his butt off.

MJ,

From what I'm seeing so far, the biggest thing is a slowdown in functionality. I'm assuming that stuff is still compiling behind the scenes, which might account for the delay when trying to navigate.

Otherwise, so far so good. I'll let you know if I run into any bugs with the modding tools.

Some of that is the new code. Some of it isn't.

The FantasyTSP page is now Javascript heavy and it's takes about 2-3 seconds to load up. I am working on making that faster.

The forum should run just as fast or faster than the old one.

But I also noticed that my server was just running sluggish today. And I don't know why. Hopefully it gets better on its own. Maybe the chaos in the stock market is impacting the server farm. I don't know.

Are we going to get the same function which allow us to watch a particular user's FantasyTSP account and get a notification when a IFT has been made? Thank you.
