Correction?

Post by Chulke »

So seeing todays blood shed I've been forced to ask myself 1.) if this is a correction? or 2.) just a random down day? 3.) How deep will the dive be? and 4.) Which TSP market/Fund is closest to completing it's correction?

Thoughts?

By my Calculations the I fund is near a 5% retracement...C fund still has another $70 or so to shed to hit 5% and the S Fund is around 6.5% give or take....

Could be a good buy in opportunity? If you're someone like me that has been waiting for this correction/ retracement...

Cheers!

I'm just going to pay attention to the trend lines. Try not to fall for a bounce. Looking for some consistency before I commit. This could be just another correction, or something much more serious IMO.

It is obvious that the Delta variant will spread like wildlife late summer/fall/winter. [Political comments removed by the moderator, user warned.] The inevitable covid resurgence will likely spook investors and the markets will continue to fall. I would consider a short term entry to S fund at 31,260 (EMA for 1 month chart of S fund) for a few days and maybe catch a bounce there for a few days before hiding in G again. I am glad I hide at the perfect time before this massive correction that is about to take place.

This is complete violation of Rule 1 and habitual for this user. Some things never change .

Rule 1
This forum is - first and foremost - a place to talk about TSP and retirement planning. As such, I'm asking that you leave all political discussions for the Anything Goes forum. MJ will work on making that part of the forum invisible to the "Latest Posts" so that those who wish to avoid the non-TSP and non-retirement planning discussions can do so more easily. This makes sense as this is presumably the largest portion of the membership here, as there are relatively few members who engage in the political talk. Keep in mind that a growing number of our members might very well be young military members who are simply looking for information on investing, which in my experience really isn't provided by the Services.

? People want to know why the markets are going to drop it is because covid spread is resurging due to large percentage of unvaccinated people. How it that political at all? More covid spread = lower markets.

No big correction. Not yet. S&P will see the record high again in the short. As long as earnings remain strong (they are for now) I'm buying the dips. Bought more Apple and Microsoft today. I do think a 10% correction or more is sooner than later, but this is not it.

Just curious... what make you think it's not going to be a bigger correction?

Well, this one went off the rails quickly.

tspwizard, you started it with the "one of the major political parties..." line. Chulke, you responded in kind, then the two of you went at it. I've said it before and I'll say it again: this forum is no longer the place for that kind of discussion.

The thread appears to be going back to discussion of the issue at hand without the politics (thank you, VAmanBulls and ubascuba). However, if it goes political gain, then I'm locking down the thread.
