As market noses over, best fund to protect balance.

As market noses over, best fund to protect balance.
I'm new here so I apologize if this question has been asked...
As the market noses over, and we head into a down market (which I think will be here for an extended period of time due to current fiscal policy), what fund is best to protect your current balance? G Fund? F Fund? L Fund?

I believe most people here follow a specific strategy and tune out the noise.

That's a "Black Swan" event you can't control.
How do you know we're heading into a down market?

Welcome to the boards. Many people around here either follow a seasonal strategy, technical analysis or a combination of the two. I recommend doing a forum search for "seasonal musings" by Aitrus and also take a look at "anticipation" by tomanyiron. As you look into the seasonal strategies, you will see that many have performed very well regardless of who the POTUS is or what the market is doing. You have to view the market from a mile high perspective as opposed to the day to day.sssean39 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 13, 2021 12:53 pm I'm new here so I apologize if this question has been asked...

All of that being said, if you believe the market is headed for a nose dive, the only "guaranteed" way to protect your balance is G fund. Conversely, you won't increase your wealth in G fund either, but you are the one who has to sleep well at night and only you know what your risk is. Good luck to you.
