Not sure what magic bullet your looking for... But you could get in right now saying to yourself "I am getting an 18% to 26% discount on your money. Then just ride it out. It could drop another 25% after you get in but you still got a discount on your money.
Depends on your time horizon and risk tolerance. Myself, I had 20% in the "G" fund and I went 100% stocks a couple of days ago with the mindset I stated above. I still have about 12 years until retirement.
I am just an average Joe. I have no clue to what the market will do.

Definitely crossed my mind. I just see that upper Bollinger band and 50 DMA being strong resistance, so am hesitant.Scarfinger wrote: ↑Tue Jul 19, 2022 12:13 pmNot sure what magic bullet your looking for... Re: Just Like clockwork...
My point of view is from past experience. I got out right before the Covid Pandemic crash. Then I got back in at the bottom close to perfect timing. That's when I messed up. Around the end of march it started going down and I jumped out again and then I missed out on some good gains as it shot back up.
So for me, if I can get a 20% or more discount , I will accept it and not look a gift horse in the mouth.
Also if you still have many years until your retirement. A down market is great for those bi-weekly paycheck contributions.

Re: Just Like clockwork...
My guess would be that it fails at the 50 EMA just like in the past few attempts. There doesn’t seems to be anything positive that has changed with the economy and with the expectation of either a .75 or 1.0 increase of interest rates by the Fed at the the end of the month it just doesn’t seem positive. but I would hate to see a failure and new lows made but I think that might be the case until the Fed stops raising or at least only does a .25 or .5 in September.
Re: Just Like clockwork...
Fed language of a cessation or rescission of rate hikes is the only sure catalyst for the stock market...but I'm in a bar in the tropics right now so who cares

Re: Just Like clockwork...
True, there is little positive economic news except in the tech sector, semiconductors, and some Earnings Reports. Maybe it's just enough for a brief summer rally? Until the next FED meetingmd2018 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 20, 2022 8:02 amMy guess would be that it fails at the 50 EMA just like in the past few attempts.
