Hey, how about mortgage forgiveness? lol Wouldn't that be nice? Not that it would affect me, mine's paid off.

hey "they" let the billionnaires off with zero income tax bills then bail them out with trillions of dollars of middle class tax money when they eff up and eff the entire economy...it's all relative.

Besides this college loan forgiveness thing is actually only the beginning of a multi year long "great reset" of all the unpayable debt racked up by most everyone, entity and country around the world in the last 50 years.

It's the only way out.

The world's biggest and most persistent problems are innately complex and are not solved by a simple absolute binary decision; any solution that can be effective resides within ambiguous shades of gray--and comes with "almost" as many cons as pros.

So what's the better solution? And why hasn't it worked yet? And why is the problem getting geometrically worse as time passes?

Waiting for the Fed's next move. With all the free money being handed out, I'm only guessing, but that sure sounds like big inflation of the nation's debt, add that to the new natural gas price highs, on top of everything else rising, raising interest rates seems like a sure thing. Hmm, wonder how the high nat gas prices will effect the electric rates and the cost to heat homes this winter. Might be a hit to the electric car craze too, not going to be so cheap to charge. We're definately in a big mess like nothing we've ever experienced before. Tom, keep those chuckles and charts coming, it's one thing I look forward to each trading day.

Prices have indeed increased over the years. So how does the spending / proposed debt forgiveness affect our investing and retirement strategies?

Not saying we can't bring these issues, up, but let's try to stay focused.
