So Feb. 3rd, 5.96 but yet the market still went down?

Thanks for posting. Have been missing these daily reports (have you been on vacation?). Copp curve looks like it's peaked. Looks like we're headed down.

Yeah, I’ve had a lot going on. And yes the Copp did peak-out. Stocks are going down now. I and the Index reacted slowly. Hope to go back to daily updates, with improvements to the computations.

For sake of time, I might have to skip the cartoons on some days.

Yes that 5.96 reading on 2/3 suggested things were going to continue upward. That’s the problem with the “Stay” part of the index. It only looks at “how good things are going now”.

Relying too much on this kind of a chart.

So with the above being said, I recently have been working on improving the Index. I should have been looking more at the “ebb and flow”, and paying more attention to the extremes.

Why was I so naive? Well that system would have worked well a few years ago, with little jumping in and out.

The inner critic in me will never let me be still. So I will be using charts like this, to adjust the future computations.

Disclaimer: The content of this thread is based on backtesting, of only a year or so. If that pattern keeps happening that way, we might be able to use it to make a dollar or two.

Great comparison Tommy.
It's like having outrageously high fuel oil prices in New England which most people use for heating their homes unless you live in a large city that has natural gas. That's forced many to return to burning wood for half the price. It's really not as bad when it's compared to forest fires all over the west coast every year.
