I've also learned alot by watching Ira Epstein's Youtube channel. You can sign up for his course, but it's not needed. He puts out daily videos and goes over some good macroeconomic info as well as chart analysis.

"The two most popular types of moving averages are the simple moving average (SMA) and the exponential moving average (EMA). Simple moving averages (SMAs) are an average of prices over the specified timeframe, while exponential moving averages (EMAs) give more weight to recent prices."
"SAR (Parabolic SAR) is an indicator that sets trailing price stops for long or short positions. Also referred to as the “stop-and-reversal indicator,” Parabolic SAR is more popular for setting stops than for establishing direction or trend. If the trend is up, buy when the indicator moves below the price. If the trend is down, sell when the indicator moves above the price."

so what do we think now that "price has dropped below the 50 day EMA"? have we hit the sell signal?

Yes, and I moved to G this morning. I should have after close on Thursday, but was expecting a bump on Friday.

Interesting. Not seeing Tomanyiron in any pending list, nor does his fantasy link show any pending moves.

My PSAR based system signaled "sell" for $SPX and $DWCPF on Dec 6.

Some people like the 200 day moving average. A simple way to calculate that is to look here:
https://www.paceretfs.com/
Look at PTLC. If it's risk off, then you know where to go. You could check every 5 days. It's a nifty way to let "someone else" do the work for you.

Hmm nice Bubba. Am too lazy or distracted with work right now to check their web site to see how these funds have performed over timeBubba wrote: ↑Wed Dec 21, 2022 8:42 am Some people like the 200 day moving average. A simple way to calculate that is to look here:

If you know Lyn Alden, she's been suggesting people invest in PTLC for quite some time instead of just using the standard IVV/SPY option. Their research goes back to the late 90s. For more info on their indexes, check here https://www.indexdesigngroup.com/.bloobs wrote: ↑Wed Dec 21, 2022 8:51 amHmm nice Bubba. Personally I don't use PTLC. I prefer COWZ, CALF, ALTL and I'm considering SZNE and PAMC (although PAMC hasn't done that great in comparison to FLQM, RWK and SMDY). Check the index design website for their indexes. You will be very impressed with their findings.
Good luck!

Bubba

Trying to keep this thread alive. Looks like we had a sell signal in mid Dec. Now waiting for a buy signal
