1-2-3-5-10 Year Leaders
Anyone look at the Leader boards for the aforementioned years?
Makes you wonder ........... Buy and Hold is actually tough to beat!
Maybe a good idea to have a portion of your account in a B&H status.

Going back five years, a few of us who don't buy and hold have managed pretty well.ProduceMan wrote: ↑Tue Feb 21, 2023 8:55 am Makes you wonder ........... Buy and Hold is actually tough to beat!

For how simple it is, Buy and Hold works extremely well.

Seems like the members on these particular year boards have been on the B&H status for about 2-3 yrs.

Many of those in the top 50 on the 3-year list seem to have stopped playing after the end of 2020 or in early 2021. Most of these leaders had excellent timing in 2020, either starting their accounts in late March or switching from G to S at that time. Their 1 and 2 year rankings are much less stellar.ProduceMan wrote: ↑Wed Feb 22, 2023 6:48 am Seems like the members on these particular year boards have been on the B&H status for about 2-3 yrs.

Yes, at least when interest rates are declining for extremely low, and stock speculation is detached from fundamentals.

It's a different paradigm today as you mentioned. On top of that AI is now running the show on Wall Street.

I definitely suspect a lot of people quit playing when I changed the tspcenter website.

I am like rank 82 on the 10 year.
C fund is 4th
S fund is 37th
L2040 is 138th
I was market timing and then tried the monthly strats and then some daily strategies.
What I found out about myself is that I can not stick to a strategy that I have to check on monthly or daily.
I recently switched to a buy and hold because I only have to rebalance once a year. So less opportunity for me to screw things up by not being disciplined enough (emotional fortitude) to stay true to a seasonal/daily strategy.
I have another 10 (65) to 12 (67) years before I retire. Time will tell if I can stick to this plan

I am just an average Joe. I have no clue to what the market will do.
