Positives about the new TSP

Post by Scarfinger »

One thing I do like about the new system is that you can get a PDF/printable statement any time you want.
I am just an average Joe. I have no clue to what the market will do.

This new Genesis system that Tricare is changing over to, reminds me a lot of the new TSP website. Just spent over 4hr at my local Tricare provider for a 30min appointment, due to delays caused by switching over to this new system. I try to log onto Genesis website at home and all my past medical history is gone. Tried to just fill my prescriptions, but it says I must use new system to resubmit to my primary care provider, but she has also disappeared from the system. Of course the old reliable Tricare on Line (TOL) website was disabled at the same they turned on the Genesis system over the weekend, so nobody can use that anymore.

I like that you can't find your balance for a specific day.
EDIT: I was wrong. You can.

Yes, but it's a real PITA and not at all intuitive to find or use.

Also, if you try to find multiple of them in a row, the system slows down for some reason and you have to refresh the screen to get anything to work quickly. Becomes noticeable after seeing about 7 days' worth of returns, and bogs down significantly after a dozen or so.

I tested it once just to see how bad it would get. At 30 days it takes about a minute for the screen to make any progress from click to result.

I like that you can still submit an IFT before 12 noon est and it will be effective that same very day.

I don't like that within that same IFT submission, I also requested a contribution change, but it's effective date is the day after (anyone experience this).
