Military Buyback
My question is, if there is a program with the Department of Veterans Affairs(VA) for military buyback.
A fellow employee told me he bought his military time back thru VA, but at the time he was not a federal employee.
Is there a VA program and or benefit that fits this scenario?

Re: Military Buyback
I bought back 3 years of my military time some time ago, which in effect added 3 years back on towards my civilian Federal pension time. Why would you want to buy back any time, if you're not working for the government?

I was thinking the same thing, but he eventually became a fed employee.
But are you aware of a VA program that allows you to buy military time back?
I was thinking you could only buyback when actively employed.

I never heard of such, but I assume you could buy back your time if you were currently employed by VA.

Hi, Any Vets that want to increase or see if they qualify for a VA disability. I went through Veterans Guardian. Great company and in 4 months got big increase in my rating. I tried for years using the DAV no luck. They are a consulting firm and get paid but not til you get an increase. Can’t hurt call see what they can do. I’m retiring early partly because of them.
Re: Military Buyback
Was it a flat fee, or was it a % of the catch-up payout? I've had a couple of buddies who used other firms that intentionally dragged everything out to build up size of the catch-up payment, and their fee was based on a % of that catch-up payment. If the upgrade had been completed quickly it would have resulted in a smaller payout for them.Kajsss wrote: ↑Fri May 12, 2023 5:57 am Hi, Any Vets that want to increase or see if they qualify for a VA disability. Re: Military Buyback
Whatever the increase times 5. They give you ten months to pay but if you pay in one payment they take 10% off. They get results so it’s worth it.
Re: Military Buyback
The company is owned by veterans and employees are all veterans too.
