Negative P/E ratio

Negative P/E ratio
How can a company with a low P/E ratio, report a positive EPS, beat their quarterly earnings per share. Get a boost on stock price. And suddenly have a negative P/E ratio. I am talking about Intel for those following the bigger market. Sure it's oversold right now. But for it to go negative it would have to report a loss of earnings.

Been holding intel and excited at only losing $8/share. Thinking of accepting a lesser loss and selling.

Mattsdad63. That would explain it. I just wonder how you beat market predictions by 2 cents correlates to loss of money. Unless of course the market expected you to lose and you just didn't lose as bad as they thought. Which is probably what happened. Thanks.
