Schwab vs what else is available???

I see that I'm not the only one not too happy with the transition of my Ameritrade accounts. Any suggestions for shopping around? Anyone have thoughts on Fidelity?

Re: Schwab vs what else is available???
Personally I haven't had any issues, I transitioned over to Schwab about a year ago. Navigating the platform was about the same for me, I'm neutral about it. I have a Fidelity & Vanguard accts too and I prefer the Fidelity interface over the Vanguard.

I got switched last year to Schwab. I find their website useless. Buying and selling is no problem. They're useful for only that. I find it very, very difficult to find out about anything via them. I use Seekingalpha for research (or even here!).jimcasada wrote: ↑Wed May 15, 2024 9:16 am https://www.marketwatch.com/amp/story/c ... e-3724743c

I also have accounts with M1 and Fidelity. M1 is about as useful as Schwab, but Fidelity's website is quite good. I've used them for years and found Fidelity the best.
Re: Schwab vs what else is available???
I had Schwab back in the late '90's through about 2005. I decided to try Ameritrade after getting tired of entering trades via touch tone phone, plus the fees were significantly cheaper. When Ameritrade merged with TD Waterhouse, it was perfectly seamless, but when Schwab took over, I was locked out for about a week, then had to reset everything (relink accounts, reset passwords, reset beneficiaries, etc, etc). They even deleted all my watch lists. Even today, I tried to simply look up a couple of stocks and got a system not available message.

I agree that their system really, really sucks. I honestly don't understand why they don't do a major overhaul to make it interesting. Crazy stuff.jimcasada wrote: ↑Thu May 16, 2024 6:11 pm I had Schwab back in the late '90's through about 2005.
