Seasonal Workbook

Post by jedi757 »

I can't remember who sent me the seasonal workbook back in 2016 but my intentions were to study it, understand it and implement it year after year and I have not. Just been too busy. Some months I might follow it and then others I forget about TSP. My husband, a fairly new Govie, finally has enough in his TSP that he now wants to learn to follow it so I'm trying to explain what little I know about TSP and the theory behind the seasonal workbook. He wants to follow Jahbulon's mix, if any of you know what I'm talking about which means its time to move into F or G for Aug and Sept. But my book is old. Has anyone on here kept up with that workbook and if so can you provide it?

Hey, Jedi. That was probably me.

I haven't maintained the workbook for several years now. The best thing would be to go to www.tspcalc.com. On the main landing page, on the left side there's a Seasonal Calculator. At the bottom of it is a check box next to Jahbulon's Mix. Don't click that because you want to see the monthly moves. Instead, enter the number 27 in the "Go to Strategy" box and click Go.

The result that will come up in the Seasonal Calculator section is the monthly move schedule, and below the "Go to Strategy" section you'll see the monthly and annual returns for Jahbulon's Mix going back to 2004. From there, you can either bring your book up to date, or you can just rely on the site to guide you from now on.

If you want to test out other Mixes, you can enter your desired changes in the Seasonal Calculator and compare them to things like the C Fund, other Mixes, your own new Mix, etc. Or you can click on some of the buttons next to tmj100, TSPCenter, etc. to see how the monthly mixes in the workbook have been doing.

Thank you so much, I'll check that out. And yes, it probably was you that gave it me.

It turns out Jahbulon has done pretty well since 2019, for what it’s worth. It has beat the C fund from 01-01-2019 to yesterday by like 0.2% average
