Just as usual!, now that I shifted most of my account to G, the market goes UP

Out of curiosity, what caused you to shift to G? Something you read? Your strategy said to move? Something else?
Trust me - I've felt the same way when my strategy says to move and I follow along, only for the market to have an awesome day after the switch. But I'll often look back at the trade a few days later and realize that the market ended up lower than it gained on the first day, so my move to G was a good choice in the long run. I've had that often enough over the years that now I trust the system and it's easier to ignore the gut punch of having missed out on a good one-day return.

I’m not following any strategy, it was just a “scared say your scared” move (Gov Shutdown and Tariffs).

Just choppy sidways today, might not have been a bad move. The meltup does feel over and we just have the blowoff top left for upside.
Re: @#%[!!?@!!?&2#^+=
I'm going back to G-fund today. The markets feeling peaky to me. Fed cut is already baked in and potential obstacles ahead. Growing AI bubble, and Supreme Court takes up the legality of tariffs early November. Too risky for me.
Re: @#%[!!?@!!?&2#^+=
I almost decided to get back in today, but chickened out. The bounce this morning had a dead cat feel to it. Maybe tomorrow?
Re: @#%[!!?@!!?&2#^+=
I don't know, I think your pullout on 10/28 was timed pretty perfectly and I wouldn't be so hasty to jump back in yet. I'm stuck riding this thing down.

Thanks Horaenaut, but I think maybe I missed the boat on this bounce. Tomorrow morning, way overdue US retail sales & Sept producer price index data come out at 0830. That should be interesting. Otherwise, the week of Thanksgiving is usually positive for the markets.

Yeah, but the fact they keep on avoiding publishing stuff is making me uneasy. I'm not entirely worried yet because we did have the longest shutdown in history...so there's a chance that influenced the work. We'll see next month.jimcasada wrote: ↑Mon Nov 24, 2025 1:48 pm Thanks Horaenaut, but I think maybe I missed the boat on this bounce.
