2019 Pay Tables FINALLY out

Post by quidam65 »

And somehow Birmingham Alabama got a larger raise than Dallas-Fort Worth.

Maybe to compensate the overworked folks at TSP who have to process all those withdrawal requests for rollovers to Fidelity and Vanguard?

Huh? When I click on the PDFs it still says “Effective January 2019”

UPDATE: Oh I see they’re effective January 2019 but they still have the raises in them. Cool!!!

Probably about the same amount of time as it took to come out with the tables.

I think this paycheck (friday), will have all the backpay included, it should be roughly 250$.

My paycheck that will go out this Friday for pay period 7 has been posted, and it does NOT contain the 1.9% raise nor the lump sum backpay. Which kinda makes sense, really, because the pay period had already started before the executive order was signed.

I assume the backpay will go into effect pay period 8.

Since the EO wasn't signed and the tables issued until late Thursday, this past PP won't have them. The next one could but it may not have the retroactive pay (there are thousands of employees and some have quirks, like if a promotion or WGI also happened during the period). And we had the retirement luncheon for one employee Thursday, only hours before the tables were released (his last day was Friday), so at some point he'll get his retro pay.

Per my HR:

"On March 28, 2019, the President signed an Executive Order to implement a retroactive Pay Adjustment required by the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2019 (Public Law 116-6, February 15, 2019). Consistent with the Act, the Executive Order authorizes a 1.4 percent across-the-board increase for statutory pay systems and an average 0.5 percent increase in locality pay, retroactive to the first applicable pay period beginning on or after January 1, 2019.

The Paycheck date for pay period 7 is April 25, 2019. This is the first paycheck moving forward that will reflect the new pay increase. However, the retroactive portion of the pay increase – the approximately 1.9% per pay period for pay periods 1-6 – will not be in pay period 7’s pay check.

Beginning with the pay period 8 (April 14 – April 27) paycheck dated May 9, 2019, applicable employees will begin to receive retroactive payments for the six prior pay periods as well as any other pay adjustments based upon personnel actions which were effective in pay periods 1 through pay periods 6 (January 6 – March 30, 2019). This may continue for multiple pay periods until all retroactive payments are completed."
