Timber,

I'm in that position. From what I understand, the two retirements and TSP accounts are separate. Even for Guard / Reserve technicians, they are two separate accounts. This means that under BRS both pay sources would get matched.

Not sure if the continuation pay at the 12 year mark applies, though.

Thanks Air, great insight! I assume you still are bound by the $18K limits however?

From my research, yes. The $18k counts all of your personal contributions, no matter how many accounts you use to reach the $18k. That is a separate amount from any Roth contributions, I believe.

I could be wrong, and if I am somebody please step up and correct me. I don't want to be handing out false info.
